Is it just me, or does everything seem upside down these days?

It seems like every day I hear something or read something that defies reality and logic and makes it seem like up is down and down is up. Whether it’s the economy, gender issues in education, race issues, health care, or the many other issues in between, sowing chaos and confusion appears to be the end goal today. The sheer number of these issues is enough to make me feel discouraged sometimes and, frankly, just sad.

God knew we would have days when we felt like this, so the Bible tells us:

Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

“In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” (Ephesians 6:10-18)

For me, the best cure for chaos is an anchor and that’s exactly what the Bible is; the Bible contains the “full armor of God” and teaches us the best way to live and provides answers to the many divisive questions that are out there today. Grab onto this anchor and allow it to give you peace.

God bless you and your family, Miss Martha
